The tourist season is approaching the middle & New visitor records stand for fall

Some plan more than others

Breaking records with a country like Norway is not the big problem. But Norway is a small country and unfortunately we are not able to accommodate everyone who wants to at short notice. Many hotels and accommodation are fully booked for up to 2 years ahead. Then at the most visited destinations, and it is therefore now more important than ever to plan well in advance what you want to visit. The distance between the various destinations, place of residence, the time it takes including roadworks, photo stops, eating and toilet visits.

The roads can be very challenging both when it comes to a lot of traffic at different times. But also because everyone wants to see and discover Norway in their own way. That is, specially built vans, trucks, large camper vans, and drivers who are not familiar with the car, or the roads it will be driven on. Not least, it has been shown that backing is something most people have not practiced before they set out on a trip! And there are a lot of them, unfortunately. This leads to unforeseen accidents, loss of time and, in the worst case, trips not being carried out and having to be cancelled. Nor does anyone familiarize themselves with traffic rules and signage, or speed limits before they cross national borders. But luckily there are few accidents with serious outcomes.

We note that many tourists book their trips and excursions too close to departures for various activities. Which, in the case of delays in the first viewership, means that you lose it the next day. This also does not allow for a refund of amounts on booked trips. And with costs in Norway, this can result in losses that sting the wallet. As well as, frustrations, irritations, disagreements with carriers of the various trips. (This is unnecessary noise). For example, seats are booked for adults, but then the children are forgotten. Then the meeting turns up at the agreed time, and then there are not enough seats. Many times we find that parents say that they can hold their children with their hands during transport! In Norway, this is utopia. And should not occur, nor should passengers sit on the floor between the seats. There is an understanding that the rules in the different cultures are different, but such things will not be accepted for the reason that the drivers will be held legally accountable to the authorities. And will be deprived of his driver's license, and will be fined. Which in turn leads to loss of income and livelihood. Respect this with utmost humility and understanding, and do not start a discussion at the point of departure.

We wish you well prepared and a warm welcome to Norway.
